Experience
My vast construction experience provides me with an ideal background to inspect your
property. I have renovated and repaired homes constructed over the past 100 years. I know
the materials and building techniques used along with the problems that can arise under a
variety of conditions.

Communication
Many home inspectors can find a deficiency in a property, few can effectively communicate
those findings. I recommend that you attend the inspection and ask as many questions as
you have. I pride myself educating you so that you understand the findings of my evaluation
and also the implications and repair options.

Reporting
View a Sample Report. Communication continues into an outstanding report. Following
your inspection, you will receive an easy to read, comprehensive and informative report on
the conditions found in your home. Problem areas are highlighted with pictures and
personalized narratives so that you clearly understand our findings. We identify high priority
safety issues as well as maintenance and convenience issues. Your report isn't bulked up
with pages of details which have no application to your property, nor is it a merely a
checklist with out-of-the-box comments. I believe that you deserve to know precisely what
the conditions are in your house and what you need to do about them. Deficiencies are
accompanied by clear, detailed photos to help you understand the condition. View a sample

Attention to Detail
My inspections exceed the Standards of Practice of both the International Association
of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI) and the Canadian Association of Home
Property Inspectors (CAHPI). I will take as much time as is required to complete your
inspection and answer your questions. Typically, I will be in the property for about 3 hours
with additional time after leaving the property to prepare your report. Larger or older homes
may required significantly more time. Many inspectors will book 3 or 4 inspections for a
single day. One inspector boasted to me that it only takes him 45 minutes to inspect a house
and looked down his nose at me that I didn't know what I was doing if it takes me 3 or 4
hours! You are hiring me to evaluate your valuable real estate investment and I have a duty
to provide you with a thorough inspection.

Independence
View my Code of Ethics. I am committed to providing a fair and accurate evaluation of
your property. I have no affiliation with any Contractors, Service Companies or Realtors. I
will not offer or perform any repair services in your property. While some Realtors may look
to recommend an inspector who will "close the deal" I will always have your best interest in
mind and objectively report the findings in your property. You are my client and my
responsibility is to you.

I do not market myself to Realtors for the purpose of gaining referrals. I do welcome the
opportunity to work with agents who choose to refer their clients to me because they
recognize the value of a detailed, objective, thorough inspection and appreciate the fact that
I take the time to expain the issues involved. If your agent has given you my name, you can
rest assured that they have your best interests in mind.
