New Home Construction Think there couldn't possibly be anything wrong with a brand new house because it has already passed a municipal inspection? Think that the builder's Quality Control is going to catch all of the mistakes? Think again! Most often the deficiency list in my inspection report on a new house is as extensive as a home 10 or more years old. With their heavy workload, municipal inspectors don't have time to spend hours in each house they inspect. In my experience as a contractor a typical visit from the inspector lasts less than 15 minutes. Municipal inspectors are not lazy or neglectful, they do not have time allowed in their demanding schedule to thoroughly evaluate every aspect of your home. The reputation of a New Home builder is based on the quality of their product. I don't believe that the intentionally build homes with deficiencies but with fast build scedules and so many trades and sub-trades involved sometimes details can get overlooked. At Inspector Homes, I will design a custom inspection schedule for your custom home.
